Magic Kingdom Park Price on the Rise

I’m going to preface this blog with saying-you all know how spoiled the Dillos were/are with Disney. You all know we love it. And you all know we don’t always agree with everything. But, it’s like family, we can say what we don’t agree with-but will defend it if others do the same.

A one day, one park pass to the Magic Kingdom is now $95 for adults and $89 for children ages 3-9. It seems as though prices are being raised more frequently than they used to. These prices are before food, merchandise, hotels and transportation to Disney. And interesting…it is now the most expensive park to visit.

As of now, there is no new generation of Dillos. But when there is, I know I’m going to want to spoil them the same way I was spoiled. With the prices of hotels, I know I won’t be able to afford a Deluxe resort. And yet, it wasn’t all that long ago that I could book a Value Resort room at a rate of $69. Now it’s hard to find a room for under $100.

Disney World is one of the few places made for families. A place to create memories, have fun, eat great food and make kids believe in something. If you visit the parks, it seems like there is no economy problem, and resorts are to capacity throughout the year. There used to be certain months where you didn’t have to wait on a long line. I’m not sure what happened to these lulls. This must mean the raise in prices doesn’t matter, right?

I guess they don’t as long as we all just accept it and keep going. I’m not trying to say we should boycott Disney-I would never! But I also think that the prices don’t need to go up as often or as high as they are. Disney needs to remember who their audience is and keep their theme parks family friendly. In my opinion, the more kids that are able to be in the theme parks, the longer they may stay in their childhood.
